Earlier today, black billowing smoke was spotted issuing forth from the chimney of the Russian consulate in San Francisco. Firefighters were barred from entering, and many speculated that the Russians were rushing to destroy documents after the news yesterday that they are going to be evicted by the Trump administration.
Now, more smoke and a fire have been spotted behind a Russian trade rep building in Washington D.C. reports Foreign Policy.

It’s unclear what the Russians are destroying en masse, but clearly, there are a lot of things they don’t want falling into American hands. Oftentimes, consulates, embassies, and similar buildings are used by foreign countries to run spy networks with privacy and impunity.
