Upon hearing the startling news that Trump would indeed end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, or DACA, which allows undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children to remain in the country, Chelsea Clinton swiftly took to Twitter to call out Trump’s hypocrisy.
How is deciding to end #DACA & disrupt hundreds of thousands of #DREAMers' lives in line with the spirit of today's National Day of Prayer?

This weekend, Trump tweeted a reminder that, per his “Presidential Proclamation,” Sunday is “National Prayer Day.”

Clinton reminded the President that his decision to “disrupt hundreds of thousands of #DREAMers’ lives” is not quite in line with what a National Prayer Day should represent.
DREAMers are those who have benefited from the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act “who were brought to the country at an early age without documentation but have assimilated to U.S. culture and have been educated by U.S. school systems.” Because they were brought into the United States by no fault of their own, but know no life outside of this country, many politicians on both sides of the aisle vocally support this program and those affected by it.
Trump’s decision to end DACA – and especially on a day that he himself set aside for introspection and compassion – is a testament to just how utterly empty his words are.
