Hillary Clinton released her eagerly awaited book What Happened today, finally giving her millions of supporters a look at her inside perspective of the 2016 campaign. As always happens with Clinton, her vitriolic detractors flocked to tear her down and insult her with their usual misogynist glee.
The Daily Caller — a far-right propaganda outfit— published an article attacking Secretary Clinton, de-contextualizing and misrepresenting some passages from her book.
Ex-White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, in turn, saw the article and decided to tweet it out, because apparently his tenure as Trump’s mendacious mouthpiece wasn’t enough to sate his thirst for propogating nonsense. He mocked Hillary:

David Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, saw Spicer’s tweet and responded by in turn mocking Spicer’s now-infamous lie that Trump’s inauguration crowd was the largest in history. It was a patently untrue statement that Spicer was savaged for in the press.

Spicer, perhaps upset that a member of a different Republican administration was attacking him, gave a very terse response:

It’s telling that Frum, who served under a much-maligned president, has such little respect for Trump and his minions. He has been a vocal critic of the current administration, attacking them for constantly lying and making terrible policy decisions.
There is also perhaps a hint of bitterness in the interaction, as Spicer previously retweeted a video of President Bush, Frum’s old boss. Could it be that Spicer wish he had served under the last Republican president, warts and all, rather than help destroy our democracy in service to a blustering reality television star?
