Brian Tyler Cohen is a political writer, actor, and comedy…
In a surprising move from Senator Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican’s Twitter feed Monday night showed that he had “liked” an image from the explicit Twitter account @SexuallPosts. The like was especially surprising given that it ended up on the account of “family values” religious extremist Ted Cruz.
Whether the “like” was the result of a hack, an intern who is about to lose their job, or Ted Cruz himself, the Texas Senator is already in the midst of a PR nightmare.
For a man who famously derided masturbation, claiming, “There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship” while arguing in defense of a state ban on dildos in 2004, this development is not going to bode well for the puritan Republican.
Once Twitter caught wind of the Senator’s activity online, the internet unleashed in characteristic fashion.

This is amazing. Stop what you're doing and check out @tedcruz's "likes" on twitter before he takes it down. NSFW. https://t.co/xUhxZn9peN

Q: Why was Twitter invented?
A: Because one night in the future, Ted Cruz will fave a porn tweet and Twitter will reach perfection

There are people who know Ted Cruz personally or who work for him & who COULD be calling him to fix his twitter. They aren't. They hate him.

Liking a porn tweet is by far the least offensive, most normal thing Ted Cruz has ever done.

Ted Cruz may want to stay off of Twitter for a while. Not that it will help.
